Hi All.

I am looking for a bit of constructive help.

I am launching a business, which eventually will incorporate web-hosting as part of the online services.

Now, I know, that there are quite literally thousands of hosting companies around. We intend to do something different though, which will be revealed in time.

But my question is, if you could have a perfect hosting service what features, benefits would attract you.

Pricing structure? Flexible payment options?

Server types, software etc...

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

TT

In my experience there is one thing that will make you, or break you ... customer care. If you can keep in touch with your customers and help out with their problems quickly you will get somewhere.

Service is the most important, IMHO.

WE do all our stuff in-house, but I have friends that do outside hosting and ya, same sentiment. Customer care takes the cake. From top to bottom, being able to respond to anything your customers need in a timely manner will make all of the difference.

Essentially nothing new from most industries. If you're selling a service, the customer service component makes all the difference.

I agree, customer care. We started a small hosting business for some of our clients. We were reselling but a lot of them required a little more & I did not want to nickel & dime them for every request. We are not taking on new clients right now unless they are referred to us. Makes it a little easier & I think it helps to build your reputation.
