This company seem works also. They will open an account for us

You may withdraw funds from your US bank account:
1. Using the ATM card at any ATM worldwide.
2. Wire Transfers initiated via FAX (US$45 international)
3. Your US Checks.

Do anyone used it or familiare with them? Please let m eknow.\\\

thanks

The easier way to do it is to register with PayPal telling them you live in Hong Kong and then travel to Hong Kong and open a bank account with ATM card
and online banking. Use the ATM card to withdraw
money in China or ask the bank to do a SWIFT transfer.

I live in Taiwan and this is how I do it.

Thank you for the idea.

Which bank do you use now? Can you use ATM card in TaiWan? or you request a Wire Transfer to your bank account?

thank you

I agree it is best to do things through Hong Kong, probably through a Chinese bank that has branches in Hong Kong e.g. Bank of China, NanYang Commercial Bank etc.

However, I am not sure how easy it is for a Chinese national to open a bank account in Hong Kong. Banking rules have tightened recently in Hong Kong because of a massive increase in money laundering from Mainland China.

Perhaps you should speak to your bank in China first. Failing that, you may wish to look for a HSBC or Bank of East Asia branch in China.

I opened an account opened at TheBancorp.com bank (Delaware, USA) through their agent valisinternational in March-2003. I believe that is the most economical option for non-US residents looking to withdraw money from Paypal on regular basis.

I use Hang Seng bank - BIA account - is good since can buy stocks, gold, multiple currencies and have a chequebook too (try that with a US bank!). The opening balance is HK$5000 and you should keep at least this much in the account else the monthly charge - usually HK$20 will go up to HK$60 (balance can be in gold, or stocks doesn't need to be in cash - just keep enough in account to pay monthly fee.

To withdraw by ATM I usually walk to a branch of HSBC (Hang Seng is owned by HSBC so withdrawal from HSBC family ATMs is cheaper) and withdraw - cost HK$20 per withdrawal. If I am in a rush I can withdraw at any ATM with Plus symbol - cost is HK$30 per withdrawal.
In Taiwan our ATMs allow NT$30,000 per withdrawal (USD 850+) with a max. of NT$240,000 per day - these amounts will depend on your local ATMs - enquire at your local bank.

Haven't tried the bank transfer to Taiwan yet but I know they will do so if you write a letter requesting it and signing the letter.

ithink - I tried to open a bank account in the US online with 2 separate banks - couldn't do it. You need a US driving license and Social security number.
The US is quite backward when banking is concerned - one bank told me that a US passport isn't valid ID for account opening purposes.
