"How do you keep track of the inventory online verse your real inventory? Are you doing real-time inventory control or synchornization in a daily-basis."
I have not been involved with Real time inventory control, so far, so can't comment on that. We do twice daily updates - once when we get to the office, to act on all orders received overnight and once towards the time we leave the office, to act on all orders received during the day. We are considering doing an additional update, at lunchtime i.e. the middle of our bricks and mortar trading day.
Quickbooks synchronizes with quite a few shopping cart systems "out of the box" (well, sorta). If your cart isn't on their list you can still synchronize using a customized IIF. I have never tried that - I use Miva, which synchronizes out of the box. The synchronization feature uses a preconfigured IIF file.
Hopefully someone with experience with customized IIF synchronization and real time inventory control can also provide you with feedback. HTH.
