Main USA based Payment processors?

Hi

I'm trying to get an idea of the biggest/most popular/top online credit card processing companies serving the US market. I know of authorizenet being quite large...but what about others? Also how well does worldpay rank over there?

I've seen so many names of companies but their popularity is a bit difficult to determine.

Authorize.net is a gateway, not a card processor.

If you want to find the Internet card processors, the best bet is to go to authorize.net and others like them, and look at their lists of merchant account providers that work with them. That will get you a quite large list to work from.

If you're looking for a payment processor, PaySystems is good.

Additional thought if you want to expand your search. After starting with the card processors linked to from Authorize.net, then see which gateway choices they offer, and repeat the process.

I think that Cardservice International maybe the biggest. But bigger does not automatically mean better. There are smaller companies that give you much better service and support. i.e. Buy-Secure has a very good support staff. They are based in Reno, NV.
