For those of you selling softgoods, what would the perfect cart solution look like? What would you like to see?

This is not a purely hypothetical question, but I do not think I can say more within the TOS.

Are you referring to downloads? If this is the case I want to know more.

I know Interchange already supports softgoods.

It's not difficult to program for. On unix-type OSs, you can just create a uniquely-named symlink to the actual content when the user purchases it. Then use a cron script to remove the symlink after a certain period of time.

Yes, downloads. Don't ask me for information; I'm looking to know what everyone would like to see.

Yes, there are many places that do this now. Yahoo! Stores, 1ShoppingCart, X-Cart, Monster and others handle it if you have your own merchant account.

Clickbank, iBill, PaySystems, PayPal and others help in some fashion if you don't have a merchant account.

If you were new, and wanted to start selling a downloadable product, what would you want?

If you have been using another solution or combination of solutions, what do you like, and what would you want to do differently?
