HELP! I need to accept credit cards!

I need to accept credit cards but I don't have a business license

Hi I need a company to accept credit cards with. I need it for recurring payments and single payments. I have looked at many sites. I signed up at paysystems.com but they said they need a copy of a canceled business check! I do not have a business license or anything like that so I'm SOL with them.

Does anyone know of a good place that I can use? I know about worldpay but their start up price is a bit out of my range...

I don't think you need a business license with paysystems. Their documents are more complicated than what it actually is. I would contact them directly to sort this out.

In most states you can file a "DBA" "doing business as" alias for a small fee.

For instance, in Texas, I believe the fee is $16 including the cost of a notary.

Most companies will accept this - also most banks can give you checks that say:

JOE SMITH DBA WWW.EXAMPLE.COM

or whatever if you have a DBA filed.
