Are you still getting errors?
I haven't been getting any errors, unless the CC or something is bad ;)

I've had orders every day for the last week.

It was down for about 30-45 minutes after I wrote that original posting.

I was getting ASP errors trying to load the pages and "please retry, the system is unavailable right now" when trying to process transactions.

I tried the authorize.net website from multiple computers, including through remote proxies. In addition, I use Mal's cart, so he was hitting authorize.net from who-knows-where.

When it finally did come back up, it was unstable for 5-10 minutes. It would let me log in, but as soon as I tried to look at unsettled transactions or use the virtual terminal, it would boot me offline.

At least Mal's saved the orders so I was able to contact people. I got one of the two orders that came in back. I got to kiss a $200 order goodbye because of their failure.

Ain't technology grand?

Its down again for me.

Same errors as before. Can't bring the website up. Mal's ecommerce cart unable to get through either.

Isn't Authorize.net supposed to be a major processor?

Error that I get when I try to login is:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'

Object required: 'documentElement'

/merch/evalvars.asp, line 140

Which is the same as before.

I have never seen it down for extended periods of time. I have my cart set up so that, when it's down, I still collect the data and the order goes through. The order is marked specifically so that we can follow up manually when it's back online. That way we don't miss orders.

Wow - I wish there was a way to set Mal's up to do that.

I've lost several sales to Authorize.net downtime.

I only develop "click-and-mortar" stores - the card doesn't get charged until someone approves the order. You never loose a sale due to downtime (unless it's your own site), you never have to refund a card because of a problem with something they ordered ("oops... we ran out of those widgets!") and you never charge a card that's obviously a fraud attempt (you know.. the folks that buy things on a card from Delaware and want them shipped to nigeria....).

So yeah.. never had a problem with Authorize.net downtime. Sure it's been down on occasion (though never for more than 5 minutes in my experience) but my clients can just sit on the order until they're back up.
