e-commerce system to integrate into existing site

Need to integrate a shopping cart into my site - any recommendations?

I've got a site that has a few products available for sale on the internet, with more to follow soon. We've only just completely re-done the site from scratch and I really don't fancy doing it again to move over to an e-commerce platform like oscommerce or whatever.

Does anybody have any experience with plugging in an e-commerce system into an existing static html site? Ideally I'd like a full shopping basket with more basic "pick and checkout" type functionality, but I can live without the shopping basket for now.

I can use either PHP or CGI (python or Perl) based scripts. I use WorldPay Select Junior and don't particularly fancy paying another wod of money to a different payment fulfillment company.

Any hints would be much appreciated.

I use 1automationwiz.com for my shopping cart and marketing. It has a whole host of features, and allows you to design your site anyway you want, and fit the shopping cart around it. They integrate many payment gateways and WorldPay is one of them.

I am not affiliated with 1automationwiz.com in anyway, apart from being a very satisfied customer of theirs for over 2 years now.

If you want to visit my profile you can check out my site for yourself.

Essex_boy, my website url is in my user profile. I am into open source network management and associated services & products. perhaps next time you could keep your ill informed cynicism to yourself. I'm not too keen on being accussed of dishonesty.

Mal's Ecommerce is pretty good too.

I created my site from scratch and use his cart for order taking. Its hosted, so users go off your site to complete their orders, but its customizable enough that most won't notice.

I've taken hundreds of orders and never once had an issue with it.

The basic cart is free, if you want integration with payment gateways, it costs $6/month.

EDIT: The one complaint I do have with the cart is that its coupon system is a little weak. I'd also love to see real gift certificates and real order tracking. But, for $6/month - overall, its a really nice package.

Sorry if I caused offence. Its just that I am rather cynical myself.

Sorry again

Mal's would probably be ideal for your situation. It is very easy to manage orders through mOrders.

You can also consider litecommerce, you can turn off its storefront and make it function in the background as a simple cart.
