Essentially it's just me learning everything from scratch and have been doing a good job so far except this:
All our music in online as streaming mp3's...(I still don't even know how to hide our mp3's since when you get the info on the song it shows the url on where it is placed!)
The question is this:
I'm hosted on Ci Host, I don't have a merchant account...I plan to use Paypal for now. What program, script, system do I need to learn to be able to charge $0.99 for High-quality downloads of our music. To basically have a customer select several songs on a cart and then checkout using Paypal and instantly receive a secret link or something of the purchase?
I would appreciate any leads of information I could get.
Thanks
Stealth Eos
Be warned that PayPal fees will take a chunk of your 99 cents, I believe you will be left with 66 cents if they buy just one track.
Please see this thread [webmasterworld.com] for their new micropayment annoucement,
which would give you about 87 cents, but it might be tough to qualify for.
I actually was thinking of charging $1.49 since it's a unique site...
Are there better options...any easy to qualify merchant accounts? I will be selling cd's as well but that might be time consuming since I plan to print them myself...I just would like to know that anytime 24hrs a day my site has the potential of selling without involving me.
Either way, I don't mind paying so much, even though it is steep, it's better than nothing!
I'll look for some scripts...and see
Thank you, that bit of information helped out.
Does anybody know about [payloadz.com...]
I want to trust it because it's the company that
Madonna used for her "American Life" single
available for download...?
Here's another lead I found...I guess I'm putting these
links on in case someone else runs into my problem.
Though I give All credit to >> amznvibe for leading me to the right place!
[superfreaker.com...]
Keep em coming!
I have a question about the Payloadz code that they apparently give you to run this service. Do you know if this is available in PHP? From what I have read, it keeps saying ASP... and the server I'm hosted on doesn't support ASP. It's not a windows server.
Also, just a side-question to stealth_eos: What file type and quality would you make these files in? This band wants me to use the highest quality possible. I would use a very high quality MP3, but I'm getting the idea they want some better file type or something. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
