Making sure it's a registered company

automated system during registration

Hello,

I'm planning to create a new service targeted to companies/merchants from all around the world who want to promote their new products efficiently.

The problem is that I need to have an automated system that can check, during the registration process, wether or not people do really belong to the company they claim they are working for. I wouldn't like to have some nasty underground business promote dirty videos in the name of a reputed company for example.

Do you see a way I could check that on a worldwide scale?

Thanks a lot to the ones who will take time to respond.
Have a nice day!

Automated way to do it, don't think so. Would be very difficult.

The only thing I can think of is sending an email to the user in which he needs to click a verification link or something, and if the domain name is anything other than the domain name for the firm then it could be deemed invalid. Only employees would have email address @correctdomain.com - But I've no idea how you would verify that the domain name belonged to the right company... perhaps a WHOIS in the background for the domain name in question, verify the registering company!

Hello Chico_Loco. Thanks for your message.

The problem with the WHOIS is that it might be a problem if the company who registered the domain name is a different company such as the web agency who created the website for example.

I don't want to give up, but I'm affraid there isn't any viable automated solution for this project.

Thanks again!
