starting a sport shop

We're now doing affiliate marketing but can't fill all our inventory. We're thinking on starting our own shop, lot of sport shops on the web can use major improvements in our vision, so why not start your own...?

But how to get the major brands to deliver products to you?
Can anyone start a shop themselves?
Any tips to share on where to start and how to approach?
What about legals issues, about shipping/ordering?

Your in for a bumpy ride, I know when a relative wanted to open a briks and morter sports shop the suppliers, big name brands, were scared that he was going to flog them on the net.

You wouldnt believe the hoops he had to jump through.
