gift card capability with shopping cart

We are in need of a shopping cart that allows our customers to fill out gift card messages online. Cartit shopping cart system offers this possiblity in a separately purchased gift module. However, we have not heard great things about Cartit's customer support system. As we are new to e-commerce, customer support will be essential!

Miva Merchant shopping cart offers a module (Addendum by Emporium Plus) that allows the gathering of additional information at time of purchase, including filling out gift card information.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any other ideas or suggestions?
