Ok to start the ball rolling my very first ecomm purchase was discount designer shirt from a firm in Florida.

I ordered large in blue and received an xxl in bright orange, no warning email, just sent it. Firm refused to take it back.

Looking back I can laugh now but hell at the time I was MAD.

I must say, I can't remember what I was trying to purchase, but the site was using 2checkout and I had a bugger of a time getting it to accept my card! It kept telling me that my address was wrong and to click back and try it again. Foolishly I did, so guess what? I had multiple charges, all because they couldn't get their avs working right. Now I don't blame the site for the fact of, get your own gateway! ;)

A few years ago, I ordered something online, around the beginning of March, and asked for it to be shipped by UPS second day air. A week later, I still hadn't received it, so I e-mailed the company to ask about it. Another week went by, and I still hadn't received it, or heard back from them. I e-mailed them again. After another few days with no reply, I e-mailed them asking them to cancel the order. The package arrived a few months later in July, and it was incomplete.

Needless to say, I have never ordered anything from them again.

Mine...just last night!

Ordered a computer part I really needed (and is hard to find) from a site showing they had 11 in stock.

Had to jump through hoops to get their cart to work, and wasted about 30 minutes on it.

After placing the order, got an email that they were 'oops, out of stock'.

Today, they still show 11 in stock.

AAAAHHHHHH!

Thank you for letting me vent.
<end rant>

One thing I can say is that although some firms give terrible service I have yet to never receive the product.

Which is reassuring.

I ordered a hard to find toy for my son from a company in the USA who did not offer shipping to Ireland. However when I contacted them they were most helpful and agreed to ship, and as their order form was one of those that demands a zip code (we don't have any) they offered to take the money by PayPal, they couldn't have been nicer.

It never came.

I emailed them repeatedly after it became clear there was a problem and never even had a reply.

About 8 months later a 5 year old asks every week or so when this thing will be coming. Need to find another one somewhere else.

If by chance this had been my first ever purchase online it would certainly also be my last. Everyone suffers when these people mess up.

Ahh, a long time ago I bought this magic gizmo that let you use your fax machine as a scanner. I ordered 2. They charged the card for 2 pcs twice. Only one finally arrived.
It was a piece of crud, looked like it was made by a 3 yr old, the soldering was bad. It was just a 9 volt battery in a box with some wires sticking out.
