New Online record label needs tips on choosing a payment gateway.

My online indie label will be very small, selling probably a dozen records a week tops at first. It is VITAL for us to start and stay small at first to iron out the kinks so scalability isn't an issue. I have a list of 30 companies to choose from and I need tips on how to narrow the search.

I just bought the latest single from Steely Dan using payloadz.com . Great way to start small and grow. Utilzes paypal IPN mode.

not at all. I really just want to know what to look for. I take it that the PG company takes a cut of sales and sends a check? I really don't even know the basics but would just appreciate a brief analysis of the whole process. thanks.

why not just use paypal read their terms and see what it is all about merchant accounts usually get charged a percentage for the funds they receive in the 2% range or a fixed fee or both.

are there payment gateways that work in conjunction with shipping companies? like usps? I guess I need an integrated collection and shipping set up if they are doing that sort of thing.
