OSCommerce and Google

Hi there,

I was looking into OSCommerce for my website and I don't know if the site will be very spider friendly.

The links look something like this:

[domain.com...]

There are a list of shops built with them here: [oscommerce.com...] I would really appreciate if someone could please tell me if it would be a trrafic killer or not before I start learning how to use the thing :o)

Have you seen the "Use Search Engine Friendly URLS (beta)" in the configuration of osCommerce. It produces links similar to [example.com...] . However, since this particular function is beta (and has been for the 9months+ I've been using it in osCommerce), it may not work on your configuration - I've made around a dozen osCommerce installs and the search engine friendly URLs function only failed on one site - and that was after the source code was heavily customised and the site owner was also using FrontPage (which may, or may not, have had an effect).

osCommerce is easy to use (and with MS2 it's more easier to install and use then it was 6months+ ago) and it's free - so go ahead and have a play.

(actually this has nothing to do with Google on its own, more the whole "SE World"/indexablity then anything, so if a moderator would like to move it to a more proper place ;) )
