p.s. i am just trying to get to do something interesting and financially rewarding just to kill the boredom of life :)
Now, so that I don't sound like those BS spam emails everyone gets about working from home, this is what you need to do: Many people reinvent themselves throughout life.
That's what I did last year, leaving the corporate world and the great pay for a better quality of life - and less money. But my business is steadily growing, I turned what I like to do into something I make money at, and I do not have a single regret (except maybe the Porsche I was going to buy when I was a corporate whizbang!).
Go check out a couple of books: My wife is reading "the artist's way," a real good book a reinventing yourself. Another book, I think the name is "create the life that you want, do the work that you love" search via google.
Good luck, WFN :)
WFN hit it right on the head. I was an executive producer for the NFL and MLB and I thought that was sooooo cool. I remember getting home after 10:30 pm to my wife and new son. I had seen a great baseball game, but missed my sons' first step. That is difficult to recover from.
Good luck, and just dream about what you'd love to do.
Goober
Water in the desert is a necessity.
Ice Water is a luxury.
Seriously though, I think that on the internet you can expect to gain very little from minimal input. The people who win put in long hours and devote themselves to their idea. Just my 2 cents worth.
financially rewarding
What i meant was that, something like 'cheap bucks'..like $300/week along the lines..i just want to do it for fun..but a little buck here and there wont hurt idealogy.
To be precise, i just want to test waters in ecommerce and i like the idea of putting up a small store or something like that..But i dont know what to sell/offer service...
This lead me into service or content areas.
- If you like to write or very knowledgable about a subject: start a site, then start penning a newsletter. build up subscribers to that newsletter, put some ads on your site and newsletter, then offer a premium version of your newsletter for a subscription fee
- If you program develop some sort of software or service that people need
- If you can't program but can modify existing code, then take something out there and tailor it to a specific niche. For instance if you like to sail then take a calendar program, a set of tide charts, and a mapping program and combine them into the authoritative sailing trip planning site/service
- build a marketplace for a specific niche where people can post ads
- Do a search on the term micropayment publishing...
Anyway I won't tell you what I ended up choosing, but I have a big imagination and a real good buddy who's a real good programmer, and even if it does not mean I can dump my day job, I will definitely enjoy running the site.
(a) Something you already know about. Starting out in an industry you know NOTHING about is not going to be to your advantage.
(b) Make it something you'll enjoy. That way you'll stick with and get some satisfaction from the 'little successes' along the way.
(c) Once you have success the first time, more doors will open (and more ideas will come).
Good luck!
