Paypal website down

The Paypal website has been unavailable for at least the last 12 hours or so.

This is a bit of a bummer, as I'm currently writing a quote for a customer where the site would use Paypal buttons. He won't be impressed if I go to him and recommend he use a service which isn't there.

Has this ever happened before - how reliable is Paypal? Obviously if it's down for a considerable length of time, people could lose a lot of business.

I've had no problems getting in, and I've been there throughout the day, and just checked again. There might be some other reason why you are unable to get in.

My mistake! Apologies to all concerned.

The problem lies with Naviscope. It's a program I use to block Popups and adverts, but it also has undesirable effects on certain other websites, so it normally ends up getting turned off. When I disabled it, Paypal was available again.

I keep thinking of ditching Naviscope, but then I'll get onto a site that throws popups at me and I end up turning it on again.

It's a bit scary that some major sites simply don't work when a client has popup blocking software - makes you wonder what's happening on your own websites...

Try the new google toolbar (it may still be beta, but works fine) it has a a popup blocker as one of its functions and works a treat, haven't noticed any side afects

It works great, and is easy to turn off and on if you need to for certain sites.
