Shop Till You Drop?

How much time do you spend shopping....

On average, how much time do you spend shopping on a particular online store? A new site you have never seen before or a site you frequently visit.

And how often do you check back for updates on a ecommerce site you like and at what point do you get frustrated if there is no update or change to the featured items, pictures etc.?

I spent an hour and a half on Amazon last night for some books but rarely spend more than an hour looking for ANYTHING... I just don't have the attention span ;-)

I can easily spend that much time (or more) at Amazon. I usually check back when I am on the hunt for a new book, or I want to know more about a particular title. But that is one of the few online stores I will spend any signigicant time at. I rarely even look at the index page, I go straight for that search box ;)

What about time on a new site? Unless I am serious about placing an order, not very long. And if I am considering placing an order, two things will make me leave quickly: no clear shipping information (I won't bother to look around if they don't ship to Canada) and images that load too slowly on cable.
