I will be preforming a revalidation of all WebmasterWorld member accounts some time in the next week.

What will happen, is all accounts will be temporarily deactivated and there will be an email sent out with a click back link in it.

If you do not have a valid email address in your member profile, you will not be able to access WebmasterWorld any longer.

Interesting the activation is instant isn't?
Now i will have to press F5 more with my email client than the Active thread page ;)

If you've stated your email like lazerzubb ( at ) domain . com

Will the email still arrive in my mailbox?

Brett, I got tired of doing these re-validations on my sites so what I did, in addition to validating people when they join, when someone changes their e-mail address my software forces them to go through the validation process again. It's a quick and easy process much like what you stated you'll be doing so generally the members don't mind.

Gary, i think Brett wants to weed dead memberships out of the database ... so that's the best and maybe the only approach to do it.

I understand what Brett is trying to do. :)

I was just offering a suggestion to prevent the situation from getting out of hand in the future.

Regarding your comments though, I forgot to mention earlier I have a SQL Server job that runs nightly which deletes memberships that have been inactive for more than a year.

Gray has it right. That's what the clean up is about. The best way to put such a thing online is to clean them out first...

Maybe this thread should be bumped to the home page, as well. Just so people can edit e-mail address.

It won't be until next week, and I'll do a stickymail notice/warning over the weekend.
