Just wanted to get a head start on the travel arrangements, as it gets expensive traveling overseas.

I believe BarCon is first, that will take place in the end of April if i am not wrong, and it looks like it's going to be Boston (Brett confirm?)

I am not sure if they have decided anything for PubCon yet.

Whats the difference

BarCon = USA?
Pubcon = U.K?

Do I win? :)

In boston as we speak making arrangements. Details and announcement on 13th.

Flights? Just spotted one for $110 from London to New York. Boston wasn't far behind. Plenty of time.

Guys are lucky, they just wear a shirt and pants (trousers). But what do the ladies wear? Casual, denims, dress-up?

Most seemed to go the shirt & pants route for the last two... or shirt and jeans in many cases.

Though I suppose if someone really dressed up, they could attract some attention that way... maybe I'll try that next time. heheh.

The muggers would surely pay attention.

No.... I only go running around strange cities in high heels if I'm walking with a group of men. hehehe. I don't think there will be too many muggers at the conference.

I checked some airlines on line, one is $1,100+ from LAX to BOS - not a typo, must be a private Lear with a sushi bar. Southwest is $99 on up for special deals, but they fly into Providence, RI or Manchester, NH on those. They also run "friends fly free" specials now and then, and there might just be enough here in Los Angeles to take advantage of that.

The travel web sites were slow and kept crashing IE, it looks like taking to the phone will be a better bet.

Isn't it time for both pub and barcons to get a travel agent for group deals?

Color me more confused than usual, but........

how can you check flight costs without knowing a date?

Are you all just looking at a timee frame of late April?

hmmm... a 90 minute ferry ride I'm there!

A bet it's not at Cheers right. ;)

Actually the last time in Boston the "Combat Zone" was a real happening place. Had a lock-in at the Black Irish Rose - or something like that - don't quick remember.

>>"Combat Zone"

fathom - are you suggesting that as appropriate in anticipation of search engine reps and SEOs being in the same room together for hours? ;)

Please, do not anyone mention t-shirts again, but fathom has inspired me. I'm thinking maybe baseball caps would be lovely. Black hats and white hats.

I don't think the ladies should wear anything.

So, you're suggesting "shirts" vs. "skins" instead of "black hats" vs. "white hats"? You're probably right... the men should definitely stay covered up in that case. ;)

I might just surprise you

...and one only wonders what 4_eyes will be covering himself with.

If anyone that's going is an Irish musician, bring your instrument - unless you're really bent on talking - which is very hard to do in an Irish pub. :)

That's a relief! I once mistakenly referenced Googleguy... the client's response was immediate. What's a Googleguy?

Someone with an alternate lifestyle? How does this apply to our conversation?

It will be good to be educated in these things... when in doubt, make it sound convincing only gets you so far! :);):)
