A couple of days ago I promised to write an intro/glossary type of post on various standards. But I did not bookmark that page and now I canīt find it anywhere. The thread was about URI, URN, etc. I believe I used the notion of a thingy to explain about them. Yet searching for all those things both on Google and the site search did not yield any results.

Perhaps somebody still remembers that post and could help out.

TIA Andreas

Well, I just did a site search using andreasfriedrich and got 20 pages plus. Maybe some of the Subject Headers will ring a bell...

Uh, just in case your plea goes without specific results that is :o

I tried, but no luck - did a google search then tried to narrow results. Lots of posts - none like the one you mentioned. Maybe someone else will have more luck?

Ack! I remember that post - and LedMAO at your use of the term "thingy", too... But I can't recall where it was either. Did you check your "My threads" list in control panel?

I think it was the "URI" vs. "URL" issue that was the subject... And I am one of those who needs to read such a post!

My experience has been that WebmasterWorld search is on a fixed "spidering" schedule, and that it takes a week or so for newer posts to be searchable. But I've only run into this problem a couple of times, so that is a statement of opinion, not fact.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks pendanticist. I went through all those and didnīt find it.

Thanks for trying and helping out Mardi_Gras.

Yes, I did check my "my threads" list, Jim. But I was too active on Saturday. It is no longer in the list.

It seems I need to wait for a bit and see whether Google or Brett will index this thread any time soon.

Thanks.
