Put another way, how/when do I graduate out of "New User"?
You will find an explaination for member levels on this thread:
[webmasterworld.com...]
New User - has just arrived...yet to be corrupted...mostly here to ask when the Google update will begin...may recognise one or two regular poster's names
Junior Member - is just starting to suffer from lack of food and sleep and being too long at the computer...is probably already a hopeless case...is now able (wrongly) to post they've spotted the Google update starting...may be able to recognise one or two regular poster's faces
Senior Member - has been here too long and is undergoing at least one form of medical treatment as a direct result...now a hopeless addict and will only leave through death or bankruptcy...can recognise the start of the Google update by holding a finger in the air and snifing the wind...can recognise most body parts of most regular posters when drunk enough
Moderator - now has a life inextricably linked with webmasterworld, has some relatives who are discussing suing Brett for compensation for emotional distress...will continue to post posthumously...emails Google to let them know when they can start the update...can no longer tell their own *rse from their elbow, though could describe the entire posting history of all the regulars entirely from memory
I hope I don't ask too many "newbie" questions!
I started building web pages very early on (1995-1996?) and studied the search engines very hard and got excellent results for our clients. However, I've been away from web design for about 3 years now and I cannot believe how much has changed. Google didn't exist back then, nor did style sheets and a lot of other stuff. I thought Java would be on every page - boy was I wrong about that!
