Since this board is anonymous. Can we be sure that Googleguy is really from google.

Im not trying to put him down, because he has good advice, and I would see no reason why anybody would want this kind of attention. Can you imagine all the mail he would get from this board.

But does Webmaster world verify identity when someone can have such a high influence.

I can verify GoogleGuy's identity. GoogleGuy can control Googlebot which is good enough proof for me.
