We all have favorite messages we want to watch. However, forum messages are a pain to bookmark. It is hard to remember to bookmark an interesting message, and you never remember what it was you bookmarked anyway. Plus, who wants to clutter up their bookmarks with a bunch of temporary entries?

This feature allows users to drop flags on posts and then track those flags from the Flags [webmasterworld.com] page (linked on top menu bar). It is a mini-inhouse-bookmark system.

    Using Flags
  • Click on dropflag at the bottom of a post to drop a flag on that post.
  • Your flagged posts show a flag on the message list for each forum.
  • Once a post is flagged, you can view and manage the flags from the Flags page.
  • You may flag up to 250 messages.
  • Then just bookmark the Flags list page to follow your favorite threads.

Thanks 2-much. I tweaked the Flags option a bit more today. Fixed a couple of bugs and redid the 'flag' graphic.

psst: the printable version? been there for a couple of months ;)

It was a hard one to explain Henki. I wanted to avoid the word bookmarks so I didn't confuse people thinking this was a ie style bookmark setting utility.

I thought about using something like Agents watch this thread terminology, but that doesn't indicate enough info.

So, flags was the remaining choice.

If anyone has a better, but short way of explaining it, I'm all ears.
