Put a face on this ‘community’?

BT, I have been pondering my ‘betty button lint’ again (as RC says) and I think there should be actual faces on your site....at least just a fun area with images.... post the pictures from the pub conference, whatever... just warm it up. You have a great site here... you are so deep on content it’s stupid... in my opinion, your site has the best alive and breathing seo content in existence, and even though I don’t have enough time to hang too much in some of the other forums, your mod squad is the bomb.

.... I think you need to go somewhere different.... you need to go beyond the cold programming feel, and warm it up.... this place is a *community*.... put a face on it.

The place is a mountain (USFS Wilderness area) behind my place. I look at it everyday.... awsome. The picture is pretty recent. I have a dumb*ss expression on my face cause I'm trying to get my dog to look at the camera.... heheh some trainer, huh?

anyway, I was just thinking about revenue models for WmW and I came up with the idea of selling extra ad space to the members.... meaning, if I wanted to give BT some cash, he would give me some more room in my profile area so I could sell you some widgets.... anyone who didn't want to buy ad space would still get the basic stuff up there now but they might have to show some type of (clearly marked) advertising which BT would then sell to general SE oriented advertisers...

kinda strange? maybe... but I don't know if it would even work... not enough traffic there unless he does something to highlight this feature.... how? maybe part of the package is he gives you a little space next to your name.... but then that might open him up to more spam with people who just post to get more exposure.... not to mention the bandwidth on this whole thing...

anyway, I was just playing with ideas and this one just happened to pop up as I was surfing around... I thought I might turn it lose in here. The other way it might go is just open up the features to make it more sticky...

Added picture to my profile as well. It was taken this past summer in Africa on the bridge over the Zambezi river between Zambia and Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls. It was my first (hopefully of many) bungi jump. The bridge is 110 meters tall and it is the second highest commercial jump in the world.

where did i come in to this one, i was just drueling over one of the feminine member of the boards photograph, then you wack up that rather blinding statement.

I don't know how the rest of the accused feel, about that rather suicidle epoch of a brain cell exploding to create such an abomnimation. To me its fighting talk matey. I have'nt been levelled by such, in a long time, even my beer budies don't go to them lows.
