Need to find a "why" article

Why is Search engine Traffic important?

You'd think an article would be easy to find. I need something like a Media Metrix type article explaining why it is important to optimize your site for search engines.

I can explain why, but it is good to have a third party article to hand to potential clients.

I thought there was one listed in the forums somewhere, but I can't find it to save my soul.

Not an article, but studies that indicates over 90% of users (or more precicely over 90% of searches for new info) utilize a search engine at some point when trying to find information on the Internet:
