Who owns my WebmasterWorld posts?

Me, or Brett, or ...?

Maybe this should be a Copyright question, but it's specific to Webmaster World, so I thought I'd start here.

Say you make a really great and well-thought-out post. (I'm thinking of viggen's recent posts on building great forums, but it could be anyone at any time.)

You post it on Webmaster World.

Later on, you think, "Hey, I'd like to post that in the blah blah section of my site." Can you do that? If you post here, do you still own your post with a sort of license for WW to use it, or does WW own it?

Just curious...

I've had people email me for permission to re-publish... I usually say no because they can easily link to it. I've only made one exception and that was for a translation. One guy I politely told no told me that he asked webmasterworld since I said no and would await their decision. Had to chuckle at that one. ;-)

It is entirely a totally gray area of the web. The laws are ever changing throughout the world...
