What happened to an "on hold" thread?

I came back the other day to read the responses and it's locked and has been for days now.

Anyone know if I will ever be able to see it? I really need to hear responses on the software before I buy it.

Well, thanks if anyone knows. :D

Remember 'we get around'. eg, people involved with that thread complained loudly (see stickymail).

We know it isn't a perfect policy, but given that 90% of the people that visit here also have products to promote, we try hard to stay away from threads that look or act like promotional outlets.

Please keep in mind, that because we do not take direct advertising on WebmasterWorld - we are a target rich environment for spammers. Almost 95% of the threads that start "Anyone use product X" are promtional in nature.

Read this thread to get a taste of what we run into here.

So, when we see a thread start that reads, looks, sounds, tastes, and walks like spam and then numerous members report the thread - ya, we are going to flag it as spam. That is almost confirmed and garanteed when the author comes back and complains loudly in public that they can't understand.

Yea.

It sucks that spammers and poor marketers, who need to resort to pre-school level education tactics, ruin it for those of us who are professionals or those trying to get there.

Sad.

I guess I will just drop the lousy $150 on the software in question and hope it does what I want and how I want it. If not, oh well.

Thanks for the support Brett.

Most software along with anything ever invented should have some web pages, reviews, discussions related to it on the web somewhere.

Many titles allow you to give it a test ride before buying.

Yea, I found plenty of "reviews" on the software, but I don't know who's behind the review and the motive. Many are just affiliates and some have partnerships.

The demo is limited, which kind of sucks. I prefer an open demo with a time limit.

I did find some more info on the software that looks solid though.

Thanks!
