I have been thinking about this for some time now, as we know many SE pros are watching this forum, which is also great, BUT sometimes I feel they can see to much of what we are talking about, we are also not alowed to see what they are considering for there search engines, so is it time to have a seperated forum, maybe under supporters forum where we realy talk SEO and options for internet bizz.

Sometimes I just think they get to much info about our doings on our sites for rankings and non. I know there are more forums out there, but this is the best, so why not start here or am I just talking bull here.

There is no such thing as privacy on the web. I'm more comfortable with KNOWING that both - my competition and the semi-gods of the SE's - are watching rather than having the feeling of faux privacy.

<food for thought>
A vocal former member wembasterworld started a private forum just like that zeus. It is invite only. What he didn't know is that one of his admins over there is a direct seo consultant for 3 search engines. No one ever thought to ask him if he consulted with se's - only if he worked for a search engine.
</food for thought>

On the other hand, there is far less tinfoilness in the se space that the vast majority of people think. They don't have time or resources.

Who would decide who is a Webmaster and who is not? I like the idea but I'm not sure how workable it is in a forum like this. It might be better for something like a group where members are invited.

I just know from myself that Im not saying 100% what I know about seo stuff, which is working on there SEs, because I think they will maybe make a change in there algo if more did the same, not that it is black hat stuff.

OK maybe it is a foolish Idea.

Brett once you asked us for suggestion for some splitups on your forums, what happend to that.

idolw - No way, I just think sometimes they get to much info from us on how we create a site, Im not even interested in black hat stuff, its a wast of time and thats not why Im in this bizz, just pure website design with a little seo.

zeus, without naming any names, I have been amazed at who some of the posters here actually are, it's very often not what you think at all, one person I thought was a relative flake actually is one of the bigger guys out there, but he's just very smart about how he presents himself. So how do you decide? Can't be done.

You could I guess create a tiny private forum, but only if you actually know the people in real life to begin with. And that's already happened all over the place, so that's not a new idea.
