A few weeks ago I changed ISP at home (and so I got a new IP static number 86.82.44.*). Since then I can not access the WebmasterWorld site anymore. I get a page saying something like: "Redhat Linux Testpage". This only on the startpage (http://www.webmasterworld.com/). All other pages give me an access denied.
This is only from my home location, from my work location I can still access this site. So that is where I am typing this post right now.
Is someone else also experiencing such problems with accessing WebmasterWorld?

Hi,

Sounds like it could be bad cached DNS info, eg from WW's old WestHost home.

Try looking up the IP address if WW at home and at work and see if the answer is the same or not.

If not, ask the ISP if their DNS is broken, eg are they honouring TTL timeouts on old DNS records. If not, you're gonna have lots of other problems too!

(Make sure that you reboot your machine and don't have any weird settings, eg in your hosts file, before blaming your ISP of course!)

Rgds

Damon,

I don't think the problem is with my ISP. I changed ISP at the beginning of December and then the problems started. On December 18 I could enter again, but I had to login for each forum I visited. But after login I still couldn't read them and was again faced with the login screen.
This was solved on December 19. That day I could read all forums and was able to start a new thread.
The next day I couldn't access WW anymore and that situation continues until today. So I think the problem lies with WW and not with my ISP.
I already filed a few Problem Reports on this matter, but still no response from WW.

Arjan

Sticky Brett_Tabke with your IP address and ask to get it unbanned. ;)
