Hi darryl1 and welcome to the forums! Your best place to start is probably this thread:

I just found this place and I' m a little confused about just what this place is all about.

It's the number-one forum for webmasters who care about what happens to their websites. Some of the members run massive professional sites, and some maintain smaller niche sites that they care about very much (like me). The rest of them fall somewhere in between. People compare notes, share tips, etc. Generally, it's "a rising tide raises all ships" approach.

Do you have a website yourself, or did you just stumble across the place and decide to register? Either way, welcome aboard - if you're at all interested in the internet, there's a lot to be learned here. Check the Terms of Service, though, and click the link encyclo posted.
