When I heity site search I get:
[webmasterworld.com...]

How do I make itowrk properly?

Read that thread that it takes you to.

I think they've given up on the site search and have decided that the best way to find things on WW is to use google.

You can either read that thread and insert the google search box into your customized template, or you can just go to google and type:

site:webmasterworld.com keywords or "phrases" you're looking for here

Yes, I did it via google just looking it up for webmasterworld.
But then you are asked to login and when you do, you 've lost your question.
Then when you DO enter it again you get that url
[webmasterworld.com...]
