as per suggested by Lawman.

I ( and my fellow Indian Webmasters )request a new forum for Indian webmasters. The webmasters form India are a huge community and would like to request a space to discuss issues that may involve practices of web development and web business here.

The main reason for the new forum is for discussion like business plan issues , payment issues, taxation to webmasters in India and community learning programs.

The discussion that may be taken up in this forum would move around the problems faced by webmasters here in India, so all posts may not interest everyone else.

I also request my fellow webmasters to put in your requests and suggestions here.

Thanks

yes i would also appreciate such a step...

it is beyond doubt that webmasterworld is probably the best forum on the net for all webmaster issues...

but again considering certain unique circumstances and problems relating to payment and other issues confronted by Indian webmasters, we sincerely urge and request the management of webmasterworld to consider making a separate dedicated Indian sub forum...

Thank u

I have suggested that WebmasterWorld set-up regional forums. Quite easy to do as they already have regional search engine forums. The R SE forums can be absorbed into the Regional forums, with the same moderators.

Webmasterworld as it is caters for all webmasters of the world wide web.

Creating separate forums that are country specific to discuss :

"forum is for discussion like business plan issues , payment issues, taxation to webmasters in India and community learning programs."

would only create closed communities.

There is nothing to stop you setting up your own forum to discuss your country's specific subjects and there is no need to have your 'own personal little corner' here.

Anyway, the decision is Brett's only and this is only my personal view.

We have always welcomed discussion about issues pertaining to Indian webmasters in our Asia and Pacific Region [webmasterworld.com] forums. Would it help if that forum's description were expanded to specifically include that region?

Bill, it will help if the International forums are moved out of "The Search Engine World", and placed under a new heading "The World"

By placiong under Seach Engine World, people have the impression that forums listed under are only relating to SEs. I have long advocated the suggestion in para 1.

i dont really see the need for specific forums for "country webmasters"

if so, then its gonna get messy in the long run

we need regional verticals:
- Americas (excluding USA)
- UK & Western Europe
- Eastern Europe & CIS
- Middle East
- Asian Subcontinent
- Far East & Australia

there is no need to go country specific as yet. Will be required as and when activity in the countries becomes sizeable.

if the above cannot be immediately adopted the as a bare minimum we need:
- Europe
- Asia

There is a desperate need to extend WebmasterWorld beyond SEO (read Google). This is not going to happen in technology issues, because respective technologies have strong forums of their own. The extension is only possible in business issues and regional specific issues, because these don't have strong forums (as yet).

And as I keep repeating, it is very easy to create regional forums, just relabel the Search Engine World regional topics (forum 18, forum 7, forum 32)and bring them into their own.

"donald duck underwear" now that would be nice. But what about Mickey Mouse?

It is a tough issue. I have never liked the "country" approach. It is inheirently anti-Internet and anti-world. The WebmasterWorld is here to build a "new world" for "webmasters" and not for Turks, Russians, Indians, or Englishmen for that matter. We are here to serve the worldwide needs of Webmasters, SEO's, and SEM's. Although those needs often are regional, they are most often global in nature. HTML, CSS, SEO, or a good Shopping Cart, does not know a country of origin - it just is.

However, we can't deny what is going on out there. Borders, fences, and new Berlin walls are being built on the internet. From the search engines with their local issues to government mandates, the country firewall is becoming a way of life in some countries.

So, we will re-examine the issue from time to time. The litmus test is about 100 threads on a particular subject. That demonstates "need" for such new subforums.

Actually I do hope the regional forum will stay in the search engine section. However, I appreciate some countries have such very specific demands (like China, I don't know about India) that they may need extra attention for non search issues.

What about a general country-specific forum? Sounds odd, but I mean: one extra forum in the webmaster section, named "country specific issues"? Almost every well thinking poster would mention the country name in the topic title, like it happens in the regional search forums, so this would communicate a lot easier for those looking for specific issues.
