I'll bite, i've read about 20 or so pages including the original post about the Bourban update and then did a few google searches but can find nothing on why everyone is calling an update Bourbon. For that matter is Allegra a cold medicine or an update also? Where are people getting these terms?

I'm thinking maybe it had something to do with New Orleans, but that's just a guess.

I hate to bump a thread but the Bourbon thread is still busy with activity and I am still curious where these names came from. With so many people posting to the Bourbon thread someone must know what it means and if not why am I the only one curious about this?

For Allegra, we needed an "A" name ...

For Bourbon, we named it in honor of the New Orleans conference - Bourbon Street!

we

Who's we, the people at WW or the people at G?

I think I get the concept, kind of like naming hurricanes. This would mean that google only has had 2 major updates or did we only start naming them recently?

Signed, confused.

We, that is WebmasterWorld, started the tradition of naming Google updates.

Like hurricanes, we start over at "A" at the beginning of each year.

Thanks, it all makes sense now.
