how were these forums made?

A lot of forums don't have as many email options as these do. I'm curious what was used to make the WebMasterWorld forums. :)

Lots of coffee and perl. It started a year ago with a particular piece of software. Since then, I've rewritten, added, and adapted the script to the point it is no longer recognizable. So, the answer is Me ;-)

I didn't realize you also created Searchengineworld, which I visit from time to time - tons of great threads there! I've never been to your other sites, but am off to check them out now.

Thanks Linda. We started over here [searchengineworld.com] SearchEngineWorld. The board got pretty big and deserved it's own domain.
