"Web Standards" Forum?

Why isn't there a forum for web standards?

Greetings,

I looked for a forum just for Web Standards, and I was surprised to find none. I thought the subject today deserved a forum by itself. CSS forums may cover a few topics, but certainly not all, there's also the issue of Accessibility.

Is WebmasterWorld planning to open a forum for Web Standards and/or Accessibility?

My personal opinion is that both the current HTML and CSS forums cover the relevant aspects of web standards, and I would worry that if a separate forum was created, it would create an artificial divide. Standards are an integral part of the development process nowadays, rather than an afterthought. Those two forums are the ideal place to discuss web standards issues.

Accessibility is another matter - I personally would like to see a forum which covers this specific issue eventually.

Fair enough, I like what you said about web standards being an integral part of the development process, so they should go in CSS and HTML forums.

However, may I suggest that in the meta description, like

"Q&A around the grand topic. HTML, the heart and soul of the net."
in HTML forum, and
Cascading Style Sheet issues and discussions.
in CSS forum, some kind of hint would be added about the availability of web standard discussion, too, in the forum? Especially in CSS?

That's why you're supposed to read the charter for each forum: CSS Forum Charter [WebmasterWorld.com]
