Yesterday after finding a link to a news story about Google age discrimination, I made a post about it to the "Google News" forum. Since it was about Google, and it was obviously "news", that seemed at the time the right forum. That post wasn't approved by the moderators silently (quite correctly IMO), because I later found that the same topic had been posted in the "Google IPO Watch, Finance, and Business Operations" forum. I had thought that forum was just about the IPO, and never noticed the full name. I had just found the news report interesting because it involved the highly respected Brian Reid, and thought "Google News" was the place it ought to go.

"FOCUS:
Google NEWS and ANALYSIS."
Given that most Google NEWS today likely belongs in the "Google IPO Watch, Finance, and Business Operations" forum, I humbly suggest renaming the "Google News" forum to "Google Analysis". This will emphasize that forum is devoted to analyzing how the Google SE actually works. And, hopefully with "Analysis" in the name this will discourage those from posting the common "How can I make my site rank high in Google?" threads. The focus being on generic and objective analysis of the Google SE, and not specific sites or SERPs.
