When a junior becomes a senior

How many posts are "needed"?

Just a quick question really. When does a junior member become a senior? Thread title already asks I guess but I wondered if the time spent as a member has any influence on this or is it just based on the number of posts? Sorry if the information is on this site somewhere but I could not find anything.

I have been around for a while but I am still a mere junior :(

I guess this is because I am not big on posting....

Been discussed a numerous number of times here, go and have a look at these:
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]

When you reach 200 posts, you will be a full member (no time factor in this; but your rank doesn't matter anyway).

My post counts keep changing every time I post?!?!

It can't be because I am posting in different forums...

I think that most readers here respond more to quality rather than quantity...

Yup, that's right. And it is also mentioned in some of the threads I linked-to from above.

I think Brett has an "OP" filter (Over Posting) that ignores posts seen as highly similar to other posts, or that begin with the word, 'yep.' I believe there was a paper on it somewhere...

Someone told me (or I read it somewhere) that posts in Foo/* don't count.

Yup, that's right. Posts in the "Local" category (this forum; foo; commercial exchange) don't count.

Makes sense. Oherwise you could go from newbie to full member on a Friday Word Game without breaking any of the rules
