How do you edit?

Hi,

I am trying to Edit some of my posts but there is no "Owner Edit" button by them in order to Edit them. I am signed in. I've edited one of my posts before and saw the Edit button. But it is not showing up anymore for any of my posts. Even ones that are only 20min. old and have no replies to them yet.

Does anyone know how can I edit these or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

I don't know exactly what the time limit is, but I'm betting that it is under 20 minutes. If you don't see the edit icon the only way would be to get a moderator to do it.

But under the help section it says that you can edit anytime. That if it is less then 2 hrs and is the last message in the thread you can edit it without it being tagged that it was edited. And if it has been longer then 2hrs or is no longer the last message in the thread you can edit it but it will be tagged and show that it has been "edited".

Here you can read it for yourself:

[webmasterworld.com...]

I just don't know why it says that the edit button will be there for that long but it is not. Unless they changed that around here?

Yep, I see the source of your confusion. It indicates that you can edit indefinitely through the icon, but it doesn't stay that long. I have never worried about it since after 15 minutes I'm not looking back. Once I made a mistake that later looked like a TOS violation, and I stickied a moderator who edited it for me.
