My question is whether this special class of post could be made even more useful if posted as a wiki with the originator retaining editorial control but additions and alterations (by others) being made to a single document rather than spread over many messages. The final product might be placed in a special category ("WW Wisdom?") for reading by newcomers such as myself.
What do you think?

With the fluidity of the industry, it's best to keep an eye on the latest posts cropping up. Quite often the best threads are referenced in the new threads.
But, some things seem pretty constant. For example, the CSS forum has howto threads and SuzyK (sp?) has been seeking the "holy grail" of CSS (3 column fluid with header/footer) for months now and there are multiple threads. That topic would make a good wiki subject.
I'm not suggesting this for a discussion of Google's algo or anything else that changes rapidly but there is plenty left once those topics are removed.
