paging behaviour of forum software

I have personal preferences set for 50 messages
per page. This has worked correctly for a long
time.

Over the last two days on three computers, what
has been happening is a misalignment on paging.
It's quite annoying because on clicking
for the next page, I end up having to scroll
through a bunch of messages that I have already
seen.

In the message index, say a topic has 147 messages
and I click on page 3, expecting messages
101-147, instead I get messages starting at

/forum3/22615-3-50.htm

this is the third page of a 5 page layout

something get dinged in a recent fix?

This happened to me too and then I asked a friendly mod who told me that the number of postings allowed in a thread had changed. I went into the system preferences and changed this setting and it fixed the problem.

I used to have it set to 100 messages per page, which was an absolute joy. Not too fond of having the max shrunk down now to just 30 per page.
