Are the Private Webmaster World Forums worth the membership fee?

I'm considering purchasing. I have DMOZ, Yahoo Dir, and a few other webmaster boards, but I don't seem to be finding the information I need at the speed I want.

absolutely not.

I mean why would you want :

less cluttered update posts.
members introducing who they are and what they do.
algo analysis.
a few url drops here and there.
no real moderation or editing taking place.
lots of sharing and help taking place.

stick to the outside is what I say :)

I need all the help and community support I can get.

It's about more than that - yes it is worth the fee for the support and information alone, but it's also about supporting the site and community.

As I'm sure you know, bandwidth isn't free.

I'm glad I got a chance to comment on this topic (is it worth it). Well, let me tell you how I feel about supporting webmasterworlds forum (even if there was no private forum) heres my thoughts............

I first ran into "WW" like 2 years back (i was looking up "link farms" on google) when I ran into "WW". I started reading (for like a month strait) and asking questions and I found out so much info from here that not only do I not go to any other forums(basides RX forum) but, I was so deeply touched by the fine people here at "WW" with there helpfulness and wealth of information that I told myself that I would be a member for along time and I have been......

For me personally, "WW" is like going to college (lets say stanford) and I fell like i'm a student (i guess i'm a Sophomore by now)and with all that I have learned through the years here, it has "REALLY" helped me out with all my web stuff and I know that If i have a problem with something (anything tec. related) I can come here and get an answer in a few minutes (or sometimes hours) a most:)......

As for the wealth of inforamtion and openess that happenens In the "support forum", All I can say is that I leaned enough stuff back that to make my investment to the support forum back 100 fold.....

A quick thanks to all the forum members who have been here leanding there time and minds to this great forum, your all doing a great job, keep up the good work and i'll try to do the same. Out.............

Teeceo.

If you're a professional SEO person or other interested party looking for insight into Google and other search engines, yes. Lots of info on that.

If you're just a general webmaster looking for general info, no. Most of this is covered outside the private forums.

However, if you want to support the site in some way, pay for a membership. That's why I did it.

Great point. I joined - as did many - before there was a private forum - to help support a great site. I get my money's worth :)

Once I saw that I had started making more money because of lessons learned in the public forum, I joined as a way of saying thank you.

If you are looking for a trove of new "secrets", you may be disappointed. If you want a more reasoned debate and less nonsense (usually), this is for you.
