One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how much I learn when replying to a question that I think I know the answer to. Halfway through I get a nagging feeling: Do I really know what I am writing about? So I open another tab, do some reading, and as often as not change the intended reply.
The poster who asked the question gets an answer, and I learn in the process. Surely that is what WebmasterWorld is all about!
Many thanks to Brett, the admins and the mods who maintain this unique learning environment.
I've started spotting problems that people have that I sometimes think I'm familiar with... always though, I'm thinking, "Do I know what I'm talking about?". In some cases, I probably don't, so I try to not sound too definite, but you nailed it in your post... you have to think through what you think you know and you learn in the process.
By the way... I think it's good that Brett has let that Google update thread run. It gives people a chance to let off steam and seek commiseration. It was a bit tight here for a while.
Mohamed_E, you've always caught on to the very heart and spirit of what we're all about here, and one of the joys of being part of WebmasterWorld is to be in it together with people such as yourself.
Congratulations, and thank you for being our friend. :)
