about sticky mail operation

at webmasterworld, the top of my browser says:
Welcome benwalsh: You have mail: [ inbox:2 - unread:2 ]

but when I check my mail box it says:
Displayed 0 messages in inbox of 0 messages.
StickyMail Total File Size: 0 k Quota:150k

anyway I'm looking for info on getting listed on google.

I've heard that I need links to my site, and I should submit to some directories like dmoz.

any ideas on this and other places to list my site?

Can't help on the sticky mail problem, but have a look at the WebmasterWorld Google Knowledge base for info on Google - [webmasterworld.com...]

Directories certainly do help, try DMOZ, JoeAnt, GoGuides, and any other on topic incoming links to get your site liked by Google.

I'm sure if you hang around long enough here you'll find a few good pointers.

hi benwalsh, that is a bizarre, ultra rare, but known bug. It does not seem to affect the operation of stickymail.

The cure? Send a couple sticky mails and get a couple stickymails and it "unsticks".
