I just noticed the recent posts were back in for user profiles, was this something today?

We used to be able to only see our own (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum19/1330.htm), but it appears they're back system wide :)

Nice work!

Will the hide recent posts be available in the user profile control panel? I'd like to be able to hide some of my recents posts sometimes especially when I feel like I'm being stalked. ;P

Agree EliteWeb! I also would better like a option to enable or disable the display controlled by each member. Somewhere at the system prefs panel.

Hide? Never.... :-)

Glad everyone likes the fact that it is back!

Major tech challenges in keeping that system going. Consider 50k logins a day + 3000 messages +.... whew, that's a big hunk of dynamic data to float active by perl and flat files...

i hear ya, brett! just wish that there was a way to track more than just the last 25...

also wish there was a way to get the recent posts list to display more than the most recent 25... i generally have to start about 200 or so and start backing up thru them looking at the last message timestamp... all the while hitting the refresh button before jumping back another page to make sure i don't miss anything that got pushed down the list... after a while, i can generally sit on the first page of 25 and read them and hit refresh and keep up without loosing any... i've seen quite a few get lost in the cracks...

Thank you Brett, Admins, and anyone else who helped get them back!

Hmmm... it doesn't work for at least one person though!

I hope they paid for that custom feature!

This is a fantastic feature. Really happy that its back.

> flat files

Oh .. then this is the biggest flat file system I have known. Wonder why its not some thing like mysql though :)

MYSQL? geez, I see that the 'Google' Forum has more than 200,000 posts + lets say 150,000 posts of other forums, which = 350,000 pages which = what? let me guess a 10GB MYSQL database?

Not all are back...I think there is a conditional statement something like...

if profile!= 'googleguy' then
showprofile
else
tough luck
end if

MrSpeed, I think GoogleGuy's posts are purposely not showing in the 'Recent Posts' box, for some reason, He is the only person that the 'Recent Posts' are not showing to.
