Hello all,

I visit the bestbbs page every once in a while to see if it is going to be available to the public. I would really like to use this forum software. I have done a site search and noticed that Brett said it would be "real soon now" (back in Jan.).

Any update Brett? You have done an amazing job and I would love to buy this software.

Tell me when WebmasterWorld is going to ever slow down again?

The growth of WebmasterWorld in more ways than just traffic over the last year have been astounding. The best laid plans keep getting pushed off into the future to deal with the ballooning present.

We'll let you know......

Thanks Brett...

I hope I didn't mislead you with my tone. I understand about the growth issue and hope for the best with this community. Keep it up!

Bestbbs is by far the best out there and loved by many on this forum! Thanks

I heard somewhere that it is roughly based on another BBS (*that I'll let you name if appropriate*). I'd love to know what performance improvements you've made, etc.

I for one would be interested in the architecture of WW. How many servers, db's, replication, etc. I think it would make a great white paper (if not just a really good post).

I know that WW gets more traffic than Slashdot, and I also know that they have historically had a lot of problems adapting their dynamic site to the load (if you ever installed 'slash' you'll know why). I am continually impressed that the site doesn't blink even during a punishing from the Googlebot.

No, it was a ground up write of a new system two years ago. It was loosely styled after another BBS system (Cnet for the Commodore 128).
