On the one hand it'll be great to just forget about all stats for a few days, on the other hand I'm a bit scared what if somethign goes bad.
I'll set up XP remote connections in the hope there'll be helpfull folks. My partner keeps urging me to get a CD wiot hessential tools, but there is really no such thing, it's a whole environment/setup.
My email server has a web interface, my stats are all online, I know all my passwords (I retype them everyday to make sure).
I'm thinking about bringing my old partially defunct laptop (doesn't work on battery power)
What are the suggestions of the pro? Will I be able to quickly check a few essential things on available computers or laptops, or is it essential I bring my own kit.
I'm not gadgetyfied and have no PDa or other fancy bits, I'm on a budget, so what should I bring?
Thanks for your help and insights, as you can see I'm not particularly well-travelled, although the episode at a german railways station on an internet phone booth trying to reboot my server remotely comes to mind.

There are also several internet cafes in the neighborhood, and the phone booth's seem to be advertising some sort of internet capabilities, but I haven't used those either, lol.
Rooms have ethernet connection high speed access, so you can connect that way, although it is a little pricey, but very convenient.

They're completely incapable of remote connection capabilities, and I doubt they could run any sort of SSH software, so remote admin is out!
