Some of us are only turning up on Saturday, so don't get the luxury of swanning around the hotel all morning after a long night at the bar. A breakfast is the perfect warm up. Besides, you need some grub in ya to cushion the alcohol consumption later ;-)
Anyone else interested? Looking at a time of about 10.30am. All English people so far, but brethren of other nationalities welcome if you want accent comprehension practice before meeting the drunken rabble at the pub. And, of course, if you're going to be restless and bored at around this time, please consider coming along!
No place set, as yet, but thinking somewhere in the Leics. Sq/Covent Garden vicinity, as it's a nice brisk food-digesting 25 minute walk (tube ride, for the lazy) to the pub from there and presents the best choice of establishments (I find the area around the pub kinda naff at the weekends, being the City and all), although I'm personally open to suggestions.
Reply here or drop me a sticky, and we'll get something more solid together based on preferences.
By the way.. after some suggestions, the Covent Garden Market area is looking like a winner. Why? a) There's a massive selection in a tiny place, so all tastes are catered for, b) it's closer to the pub than Leics Sq (within 20 minutes walk), and c) you can do some market browsing if you really want, and d) it's a landmark in itself - so well worth a visit for anyone who hasn't been there before.
See the Covent Garden café guide [coventgardenmarket.co.uk] for more info. Everything from bagels and coffee, to New York deli and French goodness. Hmmmm.. bagels... hmmmm.. coffee... :-)
hehehehe
Now, I'm down for grub like anyone...just remember, they have that kewl chinese takeout just around the corner for us early-morning peeps who can only make it up in time for lunch!
lol
10.45am, Saturday September 20th, meeting outside Fuel Bar (it's an obvious landmark), if that sounds good to you people? If not, no biggie.
For those who are fans, remember David Blaine is in town doing his '44 days in a box' stunt. I'll be trying to get down there on Saturday too. He's just to the west of Tower Bridge on the south bank, on The Queen's Walk.. map location here, http://tinyurl.com/mpvy [tinyurl.com] :-)
Otherwise.. see you all at the pub!
Ah, but I'm not. I bet a few other people don't get there till Saturday either ;-) and they won't let me check in till 2PM (in the worst case). Anyways, who wants to be trapped in the vicinity of the hotel all the time? :-)
I'll send stickymails to all of you who've expressed an interest next week, just to give you confirmed details. Things could always change..
Is it allowed to join the breakfast with 10 beautiful girls? ;)
No, just a joke. I think I'm still young enough to go out clubbing till let's say 3-4am and stand up at 9 to be ready for breakfast at 10:30. ;) If not there's sth called Aspirin and Coffein. ;)
It's really hard for somebody who begins to see the world (my first flight, first PubCon, ...), because I won't miss anything. So clubbing, breakfast, PubCon, Bar and then 10 hours of sleep are my plan for that weekend. :) Any suggestions of how to change my plan?
Other than that, I'll be Stickying a few of you, but see you all at the Con! I might be running past the hotel before breakfast, so if anyone wants a lift, just holler.
Kinda hoping I'll be able to check in BEFORE the PubCon, because the Thistle's site says check-in is usually at 2pm :-(
