3rd Pubcon in less than 12 mths.

Well in 14 days time, I shall be at the Hotel Bar with my spamming, keyword stuffing buddies enjoying a proper cup of English Tea.

Based on the last 2 pubcons (London and Boston) this 1 I am really looking forward to.

anyway thought I would get that off my chest, no doubt you can all share how much you are looking forward to coming to London.

and as always, do NOT feel shy, we are all friends, and were Pubcon virgins once.

roll on the clock...

c u there.

Equally looking forward to it Shak.

For the first-timers, enter the lobby, to the right is the lounge/bar. This is what you will remember of London.

All the strange looking people dressed casually from 16 to 65 plus years old are your compatriots and later friends. Soon - alcohol - Shak's tea perfume - and cigars fill the air.

Touch and feel in the beginning. An hour later - everybody spills their secrets.
Next day you wonder what the secrets were...

I have a feeling there will be a lot of talk about Adsense earnings this time..(pubcon TOS)

I will probably be the first to arrive at the hotel - I get there the Saturday before PubCon. For those complaining about the rates at the Thistle, it is a pretty good rate when you get a room with internet capabilities - and I didn't want to have to pack up and switch hotels half way through my trip.

The lobby is also a pretty happening place, or at least in Boston. Lots of discussion without having to yell over loud music ;)

I will be right in the midst of AdSense discussion, I am sure :)

If you are a first-timer who doesn't know anyone, just start walking up to people in the lounge/bar the evening you arrive with "Are you from WebmasterWorld?" They will make you feel right at home, and introduce you to others in the group. There is no other experience in the world like a PubCon, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Yes, Shak, I was just thinking it's 14 days almost exactly till I fly out bound for London and "a proper cup of tea." What exactly that might be I'm not sure but I'll need something with caffeine when I step onto the tarmac.

On another note: Posted this question on another thread but didn't get an answer. For us Americans, I read in a travel guide I bought (yes, I'm turning into part tourist) that we need to supply some sort of health documentation. I can't seem to find out what I need to bring exactly. Anyone in the know?

Lorax,

cant really comment on the health issue mate.

however rest assured, any disease you guys have, we have a better version of it. and thank god for internet pharmacies, so no worries ;0

I wasn't asked for anything but my passport and my reason for visiting. :) Maybe I just didn't look diseased.

Not that I know of. If you get run over, you get treated, that's how it goes. Mind you we have problems with the spiralling cost of the health service due to one aspect, "health tourism". So to keep our small county in the black I would repectfully ask that none of our foreign friends get run over or do anything that might require hospital treatment. :) You know it makes sense.

I look forward to meeting you all :)

5th time for me. That's 100% converison ;)

Agreed Shak, secrets, tips, tricks, jokes, ideas, funny stories, memories will floal though the air together with the thick smoke and nice smell of coffee, tea, beer etc. Lovely!

The hotel bar will be the most important place for commercial internet on the planet that weekend.

Looking forward to see all ya'll old timers again. Even more excited to meet some of ya new folks as well.

See you there!

I think he just doesnt drink because he doesnt want to. He just buys everyone else them and feels drunk because he cant understand what they are saying.

One aspect I am not looking forward to is the passive smoking. It's almost 4 years to the day since I stopped, and I don't have the urge at all to start again, but man does the smoke get in your eyes or what.

But for everything else....... bring it on.

I just packed in (again) and to say I'm dreading that aspect of pubcon is a massive understatement.

>>small blonde swede

I've never heard of blonde vegetables before :)

Not that I know of. If you get run over, you get treated, that's how it goes.

Yeah, but if you're not from the European Union, you may get billed for it ;-) In some regards, this is not much unlike the US. Always have travel insurance :-)

I'm excited. I will be landing at Gatwick at 9:55 AM on Thursday. After a good nap I should be good for a couple of rounds. I am excited to sit around and smoke cigars with SEO guys. i am hard to miss I'm 6'2" and have really blond hair. I'm also the guy holding the menu 2 inches from my face.
