It can be frustrating to go looking for a thread you have posted to and not be able to find it, because it has been deleted.

Would it be possible to do delete the thread but leave the title in place and change the subtitle to.. "Thread Deleted"?

hmmmmm.... I guess maybe this could be a problem unless the mods/admins were able to deleted the name of the member who started the thread too.

Well, it's thought. But it might help members know they're not going nuts and only imagining that they posted to a thread that has since been deleted.

It can be frustrating.

[added] TOS #24 says:

Discussions about moderator or administrator actions are welcome in email or local private messages, but should not be discussed in public forums. This is out of respect for the members and moderators or policy involved.

Hopefully I'm not violating this. I'm not talking about any specific thread/moderator/admin, this is just a general question/suggestion.

We try to let people know when things move around - it's a busy forum ;)

it's a busy forum ;)

Thanks Jeremy.

I know the place is busy, that's what promted me to ask if this was possible. :)

You folks do a great job as it is, and my non-techy mind just thought this idea might be workable and even possibly result in less work for the mods and admins.

Needless to say, I have no idea how to make this work, or even if it would.

Again thanks for taking the time to respond.
